Dog licenses are required for all dogs within Creswell city limits which have a permanent set of canine teeth or are six months of age, whichever comes first. Licenses may be obtained from the City of Creswell, Creswell Veterinary Hospital, or South Willamette Veterinary Clinic. Dog Licenses are issued for one, two, or three years, depending on how long your rabies vaccination is valid. The City requires proof of rabies vaccination before a license can be issued. Your rabies vaccine must be valid for the term of the license you wish to purchase. Paperwork from your veterinarian proving that your dog's rabies vaccination must be provided at time of license purchase. Rabies tags will not be accepted as proof.
Licenses issued by Lane County are not applicable to dogs that reside within city limits.

We are pleased to offer a new service that allows residents to register their animals remotely with our new Animal License Application Form! Residents must submit applications with a copy of their animal's proof of rabies certification and a form of payment (cash, check, or money order).
Three Ways to Submit Licensing Paperwork
You may email your documents to info@creswell-or.us and hward@creswell-or.us. In the application, please note that the payment will be provided at a later date. Licenses will not be issued until payment is collected.
You may send your documents via the United States Postal Service. Please address mail to: City of Creswell, P.O. Box 276, Creswell, OR 97426
You may drop of your documents and form of payment in the drop box in front of Creswell City Hall.
Once the documents and payment have been processed, the City of Creswell will mail you an identification tag for your animal, a copy of your license, and a receipt. For more information, please contact Creswell City Hall at 541-895-2531 ext. 300.
City code violations such as barking dogs or dogs at large must be made in person. You must be willing to sign a complaint in order for the City to take any action. If you are unsure whether or not an actual violation has occurred, you may call City Hall (541) 895-2531 to make an inquiry.
Once you have signed a complaint, the court clerk will send the signed complaint to the Creswell Sheriff’s Office. An officer will then issue a citation to the person listed on the complaint to appear in Creswell's Municipal court, held monthly. You may or may not be required to appear in court. If your presence is required, you will be served with a subpoena indicating the date and time of your appearance.
Please send all complaints to our Code Enforcement Officer, Chelsie Haynes, at chaynes@creswell-or.us or drop it off at Creswell City Hall.
